The Refiner stays by the fire

Malachi 3 calls God a refiner of silver, and the refiner doesn’t set the fire and walk away. He sits by it. These are my field notes on what that means when you’re a husband and father in a season that won’t let up, and why still standing in the heat isn’t failure.
